I paid the rent. Brad has shorts in the wash now. Dinner is cooking. M and Z are sleeping. A and B are cleaning out the car. I felt bad asking them to do it previously because it was so dirty and not all their mess but today they were throwing cheerios in the car when I was paying the rent so I figured today was the perfect day to clean out the car.
Maxwell was complaining about his snack earlier. His apple tasted horrible after he ate half of it, so I told him he didn't have to eat any more, All he wanted was sunflower seed butter, but he'd already had it at breakfast so I told him no and then ignored him and went back to getting dinner ready. The kitchen was pretty loud with the stove fan on and water running, so I very easily blocked him out. Well the girls informed me that he was threatening me. I told them that when I heard it I would send him to his room. Well since I am so good at tuning him out when he's whining. I never actually heard him say that his tummy was going to say mean words forever if I didn't get him the food he wanted. He eventually fell asleep on the floor in the family room, where he's still laying.
I'm trying to sit and keep my feet up as much as I can, since they are still sore form wearing bad shoes. I taught my last FAME lesson today. M and Z were horrible. And Dinner is Enchiladas.
And that's the summary of my day.
Jim is now relaxing at the beach. Ah, I miss the beach. (Look below for previous Jim updates.)

Quick choppy update:
Jim is at home recovering. He takes short walks and has even ventured to the grocery store. We try to call everyday, (I forgot today, oops) and he seems to be doing well.
The smoke from the wild fires in southern Georgia has been very far reaching. My sister, who lives in Atlanta, has been in the ER twice this past week having trouble breathing from the smoke.
The girls' last day of school is the 14th of June.
Alora gets her cast off the 15th. Yay!! (Also Jim's birthday :) )
Our lease is up June 30th. We will be leaving on or a couple days before, to drive back. We will most likely not be driving our stuff, It looks like it will be cheaper to get someone else to do it. So that's good news.
May 22, 2007
Jim is at home and resting. He is exhausted, but happy to have real food again. Hospital food just doesn't cut it. He has some damage to the heart but the doctor expects it not to affect him once his heart heals, which means full recovery. Yay! He will be off of work for the next three weeks at least.
Jim gets to go home today!! Yay! More details later. :)
Are you dizzy yet?
May 21, 2007
Good news today!!
Jim is back in regular Sinus Rhythm on his own. His heart rate is in the 60s and 70s, a huge improvement from 30s yesterday. This means no pacemaker if his heart can maintain these positive changes. He has been up and out of bed some today. He will be moved to the telemetry floor today where they will continue to monitor him, and watch his rhythm and heart rate over the next few days. If all looks good he will be released to recover in the peace of his own home.
Full recovery after a heart attack is about 6 weeks. Jim is still very tired but that is to be expected.
May 20, 2007
My father-in-law, Jim, is still in the hospital after his heart attack. He is recovering, although his heart rate is still low. He is being evaluated for a pacemaker tomorrow. The problem is with his SA node which was affected by the heart attack. I was able to find some general information about pacemakers and how they are put in. This information is supplied by the hospital Jim is at. It is an excellent hospital known for its cardiac work. Check out the link below for more info: http://www.stjosephsatlanta.org/HealthLibrary/content.aspx?pageid=P06531

My Father-in-law recently had a heart attack. He's going to be alright. We made a video to lift his spirits. Hopefully it doesn't drive him insane. This one's for you Poppy.
Today is my real dad's Birthday. He died when I was 5 years old.

Enjoy. Bradley loves this one. Now join YouTube and comment.

Today I'm using the pre tag. The font is a little weird but
it spaces things the way you write them. I love it.
I'm blogging to let you know my home page has been updated. It's very Hawaiian!
If you want to know what's happening in my life just look at my YouTube stuff.

Every Wednesday night is Family Game Night. We get Pizza and RootBeer and play a game.
February 14, 2007
I extremely dislike sharing washing machines with other people. It often makes my clothing smell funny not mention having to touch other peoples' lint and the thousand dollars we have spent this year in quarters to use the machines. I want to go home.

Happy Valentine's Day to all and Happy Birthday Packie!
Zara pooped on the potty today, all by herself!!
I'm very excited.
Also, check out Freecycle.org.
There are groups all over the country. You sign up for the group in your town and give away free stuff and ask for free stuff. It's setup as a Yahoo group for each Freecycle community. It's very cool. So far we've acquired, fabric, yarn, and a VCR/DVD player combo. I highly recommend it.

The one thing I really love about California is their lack of liquor laws. You can buy liquor and food in the same store which means that I can buy little chocolate bottles filled with liquor. They are so yummy.
I've been a complete bum this weekend. Everything I did can be seen on YouTube. That's right, all I did was make movies. And it was fun.
Well I guess I did take Maxwell to the ER because Zara stabbed him with his Epipen, but that was Friday night and he's fine.
Right now I'm waiting for my last movie to upload........... and waiting........ I never realized how far technology still has to go in this regard. I really expect this kind of upload to be instantaneous in a few more years and I should be able to surf the web at the same time. Blah blah blah. I'm waiting. I don't want to play solitaire and I can't do anything online.....
February 7, 2007
Get up and dance or jump on the bed.
If you had drive-thru banking, drive-thru pharmacies, and fluoride in the water, I might want to live here a little while longer.
FYI- we are trying to potty train Zara. She's been peeing on the potty for several months now. She just doesn't take the initiative to get to the potty and makes no signs of needing to go. We'll have to wait and see how it goes.
January 26, 2007
This is the Brittan Blog. She fell yesterday after school, tripping over...
And hurt her elbow. We took her to the ER to get it checked out today. It's just a sprain but she has a cool splint and sling.
As you can see, she is still able to play on the computer.

My hubby's new facial do.
Han Solo and panini for lunch. What could be better?
January 10, 2007
This is my first blog on my new computer. Fun Fun.
I will now attempt to put a picture on here. I have yet to use any of my photo editing software so this might take a little while. So bear with me.
Tah-Dah. The image software that came with my computer and camera sucked, so I searched online and found that I could get GIMP for windows, I'm very excited. Next I'm going to see if I can get GEDIT for Windows. (Yes those last two sentences read like gibberish to most people.)
How cool is this dress? You have to tell me what my costume would be called for Halloween. I have to finish sewing it. I will not be adding the collar. And no I did not start sewing it. It was a project adandoned by someone else. The waist will be more fitting after I stitch up the back that Bradley ripped when he tried to try it on.
January 5, 2007
Well we got all of our mail today. I had to go to the post office to pick it up. It appears that one day our mailbox was full, so since the 21st of November they have been holding a large part of our mail at the post office. Apparently if your mailbox is full once they give you a tiny notice that doesn't make any sense and then proceed to put some of your mail in your box while the rest of it gets dumped in a bin at the post office. I don't understand and I just want to yell at everyone. On the UPS front, My laptop should get here Monday, I hope. I'm not holding my breath though.
At least Bradley and I felt loved tonight as we went through the tens of Christmas cards that I picked up from the post office today. Thank you to everyone who sent us cards. I love opening Christmas cards.
Pictures, soon, when I'm not feeling so defeated.
January 4, 2007
So my laptop that I was supposed to get before Christmas is still stuck in customs. Since I started taking note of names I've spoken to Zach, Laura, Sully, and Scott. They haven't been able to help in anyway but they are nice enough. IBM sold their laptop division to a Chinese company called Lenovo so my computer was shipped from China and is still stuck in Federal Customs. I'm so very frustrated. Here's the latest tracking statement from UPS. Even Scott at Lenovo said it sounded like gibberish. He said it probably means that it's still in Federal Customs.

BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED
Also our US mail is having issues. We are not getting bills, christmas cards, all sorts of mail. We only got about 5 christmas cards and didn't get about 10 bills. There are people that I know sent us cards and we didn't get them. Yesterday, we got no mail at all. If you've sent us something please send me an email of what you sent and when you sent it. This should help us figure out what's going on. The post office is supposed to call us soon. Thanks guys. firstname.lastname@example.org
I know you all wanted pictures but as you can read, I'm a little preoccupied now, but I'll try soon.

Bradley told me to stop folding for a few minutes and record my funny Maxwell moments.
A few days ago, Maxwell was playing in the kitchen area and all of sudden I heard muffled screaming. The boy had emptied the bottom cabinet of the microwave stand, climbed inside, rolled the door down, and got stuck. Go figure.
The other day, Maxwell and Zara were eating sunflower seed butter (peanut butter substitute that is very yummy from Trader Joes). Maxwell had a pile on his plate to spread on crackers. Well, when I looked over from the computer, Zara was squatting on the table over Maxwell while he spread sunflower seed butter on her hair with a spoon. I made a freakish yelpy-screachy sound and Maxwell jumped and looked very guilty. He also had globs of the stuff on him. Needless to say, it was bath time.
Ok here's the really funny one. Bradley didn't think so. He insulted my middle school humor but I bet I can make you laugh.
Today the girls and I were talking about the planets. We started talking about the pronounciation of Uranus. We agree that the original is better. We think "urine-us" just sounds gross. So after the three of us said "I like Uranus." Maxwell shouted from the backseat, "I got my anus!"
November 9, 2006
(Maxwell wanted to convey a message, so he will now dictate. He sat in front of the keyboard for a few minutes waiting for it to make sense before I offered to type for him)
I like a hotdog.
He decided he's ready to type (to get the full effect, you'll have to scroll your browser to the side aways):
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiib mmmmbn..m...m...m.m.mgj nbnnnnnbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb 444444444,mu hj " ; h vvvvv vcvvc
Zara looked up and smiled at me after each burst of typing. She is very proud. Unfortunatly, you can't tell just how much she loves the space bar because HTML counts any number of spaces as one. When she gets bored with typing she rolls the rolly button up and down on the mouse. She loves that.
November 8, 2006
Today was a very good day. This is the first time I've really felt this way in a while. I got so much accomplished but I also had so much relaxing time with my kids and husband.
Bridget and I got the directories done today! She and her two boys came over this afternoon and we put labels on and packaged up the directories to be put in teacher boxes tomorrow. It was fun and came with a huge sense of accomplishment. Our months of hard work have finally paid off in a finished product; 515 finished products to be precise.
We had a simple dinner after Bridget left and then we hung out. Bradley played Memory with Maxwell while I watched the girls practice the saxophone. Then we had wrestling time on the tumble mat. Then Bradley read to Zara while I French Braided the girls' hair.
Brad and I also had a competition to decide which method of taking off your shirt is faster:
The girl way?: Cross you arms at the bottom of the shirt and pull it up and off.
The boy way?: Grab the shirt at the back of the neck and lift up and over.
The girl way won!!
To help make this an even better day, All four of my children had a shower today, the little ones with me (from which you should conclude that I am also clean, which again makes this day even better).
And, I got to Blog!

Christmas Lists are updated. We may still add more. I'll try and do later additions in a different color for those late shoppers. :)
There's also a link on my Homepage.

October 17, 2006
We've had a busy day with family. Maxwell is doing well with potty training. No accidents so far.
I've updated My Homepage to make it more recent and more festive.
October 16, 2006
Potty training is still coming along well. It's a little stressful but it's great too.
I've been updating our wishlists, although the girls' lists haven't been updated much yet. I don't have any new entries for them yet. I hope to be getting those this afternoon, but I have about a million things to do today, so we'll see.
October 15, 2006
We are making serious headway with potty training. No diapers at all today for Maxwell. He even went and sat on the potty without telling us and peed. We are very proud. He also peed on the potty in Target.
And Happy Birthday to Nanny! We love you!
October 14, 2006
I would just like to point out that I have blogged more recently than Bradley. He's been quite a SLACker lately. I just don't know what to do with him. Hopefully he'll read this later on today and get back in blog-action. But then again no one reads my blog. :)
Anyway, I must go clean now. We have much company coming this week. It should be lots of fun.
Alora and Brittan are cleaning their room and they just put a Marine poster on the outside of their door: "Believe Me, you don't want to be late for my class."
October 10, 2006
... and Then Sleep
Tonight I made home-made pizza for the first time, and it was very good. Maxwell ate "Meatza".
October 9, 2006
Please look at the page I made on
food allergies. It's not finished yet but I wanted the information to be available. I want to give my family and friends the ability to shop confidently for Maxwell. The info might look a little overwhelming but most of the names for milk are pretty common sense. Enjoy.
My children have learned to enjoy tea with milk. Maxwell even likes tea. We add a little sugar and a lot of rice milk and he drinks the whole cup. It's quite yummy.
October 8, 2006
Bradley brought me back a Christmas present from San Diego today. I found it, (It was sitting on the kitchen table.) so he let me have it now. I painted it, planted some of our oregano in it, and then Bradley hung it on the wall in the kitchen. I had to make a trip to Michael's during painting to get more colors and I took Alora and Brittan and Maxwell with me so we ended up buying quite a bit. Alora and Brittan are quite artistic now. Their drawing and painting is getting very good. It's very exciting for me, because I love doing art so much.
On another note, The FPR website is looking quite good. There are lots of pictures up and it's the kind of site that more will always be added to, so take a look and tell your friends. foundationforparanormalresearch.org
October 6, 2006
Ok so for those of you doing the gift exchange in Tahoe, check out Gifts.com. This site has cool stuff and I've only been looking for a few minutes. It seems like it has stuff for everyone. Also, ThinkGeek.com has cool stuff for geeky people. And anything you order online you can just ship to Tahoe.
On the homefront: Maxwell will not pottytrain, instead he prefers to poop in his diaper, not tell me, and fight me when I try to change him by kicking and laughing hysterically and trying to get away. This makes mommy very angry. Also, Maxwell and Zara have taken digging up the potted soil on our balcony. I thought that by putting Maxwell in timeout yesterday and then making him sweep up the mess he would learn a lesson. He did not, today when I was talking to him and taking him to time out Zara was movng the dirt inside and dropping handfulls on the carpet. I just can't win, but at least they are cute. We had a blast just the three of us at the park tonight.

One of Cherry Chase's Fundraisers is selling Sally Foster. I sent some of you annoying emails so that you would help support our school. Please buy some gift wrap or gifts. The site has a lot of cool stuff and it's really not that expensive. Half of the money goes to the girls' school. All you have to do is enter one of their seller numbers at checkout. There is a full page devoted to this so you can't miss it. Thank you for your support.
This stuff is not just for Christmas, Think any holiday or event. Please purchase by October 2, 2006. Thank you so much.
Alora's Seller Number: 415598
Brittan's Seller Number: 415370
(I've set up the links so that a new page will open and you can easliy get back to this page to view the seller numbers.)
Zara's new favorite thing is to turn the TV off. She does this whenever the TV is on. It makes Maxwell very upset. We have tried putting her in time-out but she just doesn't get it yet. I've unplugged the TV in the family room, otherwise she sits in front of it and turns it on and off endlessly.
Yesterday Zara took off and played with her first poopy diaper. It was lovely. Maxwell never did that. Maybe it's a girl thing. Anyway after I cleaned off her, and the carpet, and the bath tub, and a few other things, I dressed her in a pink outfit with pink sneakers and a pink ponytail holder (which she left in!) and we walked to the park. She's just so darn cute. She smelled nice and clean; like baby shampoo and antibacterial hand soap.
August 27, 2006
The first full week of school starts tomorrow. I'm still not a morning person and never like getting up until after I've done it and I can say "that wasn't so bad". I hope to be getting in shape this year with walking 3-4 miles every weekday. We are still trying to figure out a good bedtime routine for Maxwell and Zara. It's tricky because they are different ages and share the same room. Maxwell cried for a few minutes tonight in his room while Zara cried next to Brad. (I was holding onto Maxwell's doorknob so he couldn't open the door.) They are both asleep now but I don't dare open Maxwell's door yet to put Zara in. I'll do it when i finish this blog.
Zara loves to take her diaper off. We've started taping it with masking tape when needed. She won't let anything stay in her hair so she usually has hair hanging in her eyes. We realized that she was allegic to our laundry detergent a few days ago when she start breaking out with a rash on her legs under her pants. I had to rewash all of her clothing, but I haven't folded it yet so her drawers are empty.
Tomorrow we are walking to school with Rebecca, if she's ready ontime, otherwise her mom will drive her. Alora and Brittan love playing with Rebecca. Tonight the girls played in the pool with some other friends and were still cold after their hot showers.
Now I will finish blogging. Bradley put sleeping Zara in with sleepy Maxwell, he's still very quiet and in his room so hopefully everyone is down for the night.
August 25, 2006
Yesterday was the first day of school and Brad's birthday. Alora and Brittan also had doctors checkups so it was a very busy day.
We found out today the girls will get to stay at Cherry Chase for the year. That was good news, although I had started to get excited about homeschooling. We can still supplement with activities at home. The girls both like their teachers. You can read more about school here by clicking on this link.
We were so busy yesterday that we didn't get to Brad's cake so we'll be doing that tonight but he did get his favorite dinner, Korean beef. And instead of going to work, we drove around, found a few winerys and a roadside produce market while the big kids were at school.
I'll put up some pictures soon, but first I have to figure out how to shrink them. Linux has different software than Windows and I can't figure out how to resize my photos using "GIMP", yes that's what it's really called.
Alora and Brittan's checkups went fine. I really just wanted to get them flouride (our water is not flouridated here) and antibiotics for Britt to go to the dentist but they ended up doing a whole physical. They also had blood taken from their arms and Hepatitis A vaccines. We all had sundaes at McDonald's afterwards.
August 21, 2006
I've decided, like Bradley before me, that my blog was a little big so I've started a new page, but I've made my old blog very easy to find, It still has all it's cute photos. I've named it my Tennessee blog but it's also my baby Zara blog. This new blog is my California blog, so I better have more that one entry while we're out here or that'll be pretty pathetic.
I haven't been updating my blog for a while because Brad always has his computer with him and my computer went through a massive makeover. It is now a completely Linux system. The hard drive was supposed to be partitioned so that you could choose Windows or Linux but that's not how it worked out so I've had to become very familiar with Linux. I'm doing pretty good with it. I also updated my homepage tonight and I'm now running the website for my Mom's Ghost Group, Foundation for Paranormal Research. They investigate hauntings and stuff like that. The site's content is being updated so that's why there is currently only one page. It's not me I promise. I shouldn't write too much more because I know you all just like my pictures and I'm not posting any tonight. So just look back at the old ones for now.
